K Scott Consulting provide sector-leading programmes focused around transformative approaches to promoting and embedding equity, inclusion and social impact, rooted in equality focused practice. We work alongside our clients providing programme development from inception to completion, offering a comprehensive and sustainable support package. INCLUSION-FOCUSED PROJECT AND PROGRAMME DESIGN

K Scott consulting offers a full package of support to HEI’s, statutory, third and private sector organisations aiming to establish equity and inclusion, leadership development, organisational change, learner engagement, social impact or coaching and mentoring programs. This may include; consultations to establish remit, needs analysis, goals, scope and limitations, agreed aims and outcomes, through to program design and delivery, quality assurance and evaluation.

Upskill Me: Designed, developed and executed an innovative ‘Empowered Women in STEM’ programme, including creating the strategy, structures, outcomes, tools and resources needed for impactful change.

University of East London and AdvanceHE: Strategic review of the efficiency, effectiveness and sustainability of coaching and mentoring at the Institution; including project and system re-design, with a focus on the experience of ethnic diverse students.

COACH/MENTOR TRAINING

At K Scott Consulting we have over 13 years experience of developing and delivering Coaching and Mentoring training to staff, students and service users. This training is very participative and tends to include activities and reading around active listening, goal-setting, developing growth mindsets, empathy, resilience and change management. The content of the training is dependent on the purpose of the programme - for example employee engagement, wellbeing, people development or academic achievement.

Previous clients INCLUDE the Mastercard foundation

MasterCard Foundation African Scholars Programme: Creation, development and delivery of a Transformative Leadership Coaching Scheme, supporting Scholars from sub-Saharan Africa, who are academically gifted but lacking socio-economic means to obtain an education, to develop personally/professionally as leaders.

MONITORING AND EVALUATION

As a values-based business we are passionate about projects that make a clear and visible impact on the communities they serve. This has led us to develop a specific interest in and skills set for this area of work. We are therefore able to offer you full support throughout the evaluation process, from setting and distilling a clear remit and project approach to selecting and applying the correct impact evaluation tools. We have also worked with Organisations to assess their impact retrospectively.

Previous CLIENTS INCLUDE the welcoming

The Welcoming: Delivered a comprehensive impact assessment of a three year Skills for New Scots Programme, funded by the Scottish Government Equality and Cohesion Fund. The programme supports the Welcoming’s most vulnerable arrivals, new refugees and migrants, to build social networks, contribute to the community and achieve their full social and economic potential. This included data gathering, undertaking person-centered interviews and synthesizing research outputs.

RESEARCH AND CONSULTATION

As research-informed practitioners, we feel it is essential that the work we develop and present is informed by current, relevant, academically rigorous and inclusive research. We feel all to often marginalised voices are missed out from this work, therefore all our provision is developed in partnership with those it represents.

Previous CLIENTS AND PARTNERS INCLUDE

The Empower Project: Consultation series undertaken on behalf of The Empower Project to gather vulnerable and minoritised women and girls experiences of tech facilitated gender-based violence. These findings were then submitted to the Cross-Party Group on Mens Violence Against Women and used to influence future policy development.

YWCA Great Britain: Assessing the role of peaceful resistance in the Palestinian/Israeli conflict and its specific impact on violence against women. Consultation partners included YWCA Bethlehem, Alwaleed Peaceful Resistance Movement and Hebron Rehabilitation Committee, with the interviews conducted within Aidi Refugee Camp and Birzeit University.

UK Council for International Student Affairs: Principal Investigator on a UKCISA-funded project assessing the impact of peer learning on international students sense of community.

WORKSHOP PACKAGES

In addition to our programme provision we also offer a variety of bespoke learning and development-focused workshops covering topics such as inclusive leadership, design thinking, social impact and activism, inter-cultural communications, creative problem-solving, facilitation, project management, conflict resolution and managing group dynamics.

Previous CLIENTS INCLUDE

University of Copenhagen: Development and delivery of an inter-cultural communication workshop for 90 participants, titled “Communicating, co-working and creating a common understanding: A work in practice” during the International Mentors training seminar at the University of Copenhagen.

University of Edinburgh: Development and delivery of a workshop series for Social and Political Science students focused on inclusive leadership development, ideation, project management, coaching and mentoring. This programme has proved to have a positive impact on participants and ran for 4 years.

INCLUSIVE LEADERSHIP PROGRAMMES

As a company we believe that training participants is only part of the puzzle, as we recognise the need to have a successful programme for them to contribute to. With this in mind we also offer a full package of support to Institutions and companies thinking of setting up Inclusive Leadership Programmes - this will include initial consultations with employees/leadership teams/service users to establish the project needs, advice and support on recruitment, training, publicity and promoting engagement, along with quality assurance and evaluation - ensuring you have all the tools you need to build a thriving and sustainable Programme or even multiple Programmes!.

PEER ASSISTED LEARNING TRAINING

K Scott Consulting is run by a UK accredited PASS training Supervisor which means we work in line with the best in industry standards set by the International Centre for Supplemental Instruction (PALS/PASS in the UK) at the University of Missouri, Kansas City. The sector-leading Peer-Assisted Learning training we deliver includes facilitation, educational development, inclusion, team working, communication, and creative engagement as standard, however we will always work with clients to ensure the training fully meets their needs. These sessions are all based on interactive group learning and leave participants fully equipped to deliver a high quality PALS/PASS Scheme.
